Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Board of Directors of George Gervin Youth Center (dba George Gervin Academy) will be held on December 15, 2021. The Board will convene the meeting in Open Session at 11:00 am. The Board will meet at 6903 Sunbelt Drive South, San Antonio, TX 78218.
Who is Eligible?
Students who are certified for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
Students who attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) or Provision 2 (P2) school that offers free meals to all students.
Children born after Aug. 1, 2014, in families who received SNAP benefits for at least one month between October 2020 and June 2021.
Who Needs to Apply?
A parent/guardian must apply if eligible student is:
Enrolled in K-12 and NOT part of a family who received SNAP benefits for at least one month between August 2020 and June 2021.
Born on or before Aug. 1, 2014, and is part of a family who received SNAP benefits for the first time during the 2020–2021 school year in May or June 2021.
A parent/guardian does not have to apply if eligible student or child is:
Born on or before Aug. 1, 2014, and is part of a family who received SNAP benefits for at least one month between August 2020 and April 2021.
Born after Aug. 1, 2014, and is part of a family who received SNAP benefits for at least one month between October 2020 and June 2021.

On Wednesday, December 2nd at 5:30 PM Ms. Holt, GGA Counselor will be hosting a virtual meeting for all 11th grade students/parents regarding college applications, scholarships, SAT/ACT tests, etc. She will be presenting a program through College Board that students can complete to be entered into drawings for money. At the end, if they complete all requirements they will be entered into a drawing for $40,000 (25 Awarded). Please click title for Zoom link. See you then!
All George Gervin schools and offices will be open and on regular schedule tomorrow, Friday Jan. 21.
District staff will continue to monitor weather conditions but anticipate no closures or delays.
