YouthBuild San Antonio is part of a nationwide mission aimed at community leadership and development. It provides its trainees with marketable construction skills as well as career planning and preparation for postsecondary education. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides the program’s funding. Each grant period is 24 months and is divided into six to eight month training cycles.

We accept admission referrals from organizations such as the Department of Human Services, Office of Juvenile Probation, Texas Youth Commission, Sam’s Homeless Shelter, Justice of the Peace Precinct I, and local school districts.

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 24.
  • Applicants must be economically disadvantaged. HUD determines the maximum income level, which varies according to the size of the household and/or a documented educational need.
